“The Garden at Twilight” is enchanted setting of 29th Annual DeSales Dinner Dance, Sat., March 20

The enchanted setting of “The Garden at Twilight” is the theme of the 29th Annual DeSales Dinner Dance on Saturday, March 20, in Billera Hall. The black-tie event will begin with cocktails at 7:00 p.m., a gourmet dinner at 8:00 p.m., followed by dancing until midnight to the tunes of The Rich Posmontier Music. All funds raised by the five-star affair benefit the DeSales student financial aid program. Since the event was first held in 1982, more than $2 million has been raised for the financial aid program.

Co-Chairs and Gold Sponsors of this year’s event are Alex and Patricia Maggitti. Also serving as Gold Sponsors are Alvin H. Butz, Inc. and Pocono Produce Co. Inc. Silver Sponsors are Mr. & Mrs. John Leone and MacIntosh Services. Bronze Sponsors are Entertainment Services Group, Inc., Bob Schermerhorn, and Phoebe Floral Shop, Jack Robinson.

Admission is $200 per person. More than 700 guests, including business, professional and community leaders from the area, will be attending the event and sponsoring tables or providing contributions.

Associate Professor Will Neuert and junior theatre design student, Jenna Snyder, of Allentown, collaborated on creating this year’s design. The enchanted setting features a pink moon floating in the sky above bronze and sapphire tent topped pavilions. Also, long swags of golden fabric and glowing white paper lanterns illuminate iris, delphiniums, hydrangeas and roses.

During the reception, which begins at 7:00 p.m., guest will enjoy assorted hors’doeuvres and a full bar. Dinner, which follows at 8:00 p.m., will include yellow and red caprese salad with basil vinaigrette. The duo entrée will be rosemary scented fillet mignon with chimichurri sauce and cedar plan salmon with artichoke lemon aioli, accompanied with carrot bundles and roaster fingerling potatoes. Dinner will conclude with a sumptuous dessert.

In addition to music provided by The Rich Postmontier Ensemble, the entertainment will feature eight of DeSales’ talented dance students who will perform the opening dance number.
