- 2 cups whole-wheat flour
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon granulated garlic herbs (parsley, basil, oregano, thyme)
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 cup skim milk
- 1 cup (4 oz.) shredded low-fat cheddar cheese
Preheat oven to 450 F.
Mix together flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, garlic and herbs. Stir in oil and milk until moistened (don’t over-mix). Add cheese and mix lightly.
Turn out onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead 8-10 times. Roll to ¾” thickness and cut with 2 ½” biscuit cutter. Or make drop biscuits by dropping about ¼ cup of dough per biscuit onto baking sheet.
Bake on ungreased baking sheet at 450 F for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned.
