The second in a two course sequence that covers the analysis and design of information systems. The course addresses the design of system architectures, interfaces, and components. Architectural design includes defining system boundaries, processing types, and centralized versus distributed processing, Interface design includes defining inputs, outputs, and user interfaces. Component design covers mapping analysis domain object models into design object models, identifying event controllers and interface viewers, identifying business rule objects, specifying object behavior and methods, and specifying collaboration diagrams. Students are assigned to a project team that completes the analysis and the design of an information systems.
