Fluids

Take all medications as directed!

REMEMBER:
Plenty of rest - Rest periods help if you are not able to take short naps or increase nighttime sleeping hours.
Large quantities of fluids - Increase your intake to 8-10 glasses a day. Water is a great expectorant.
Healthy Diet - Often small frequent meals work better if you have a decrease in appetite. Also remember, quality, not quantity is the key.

If you are using any of your own medications OR you receive prescription medications, do not use any of the above unless you are sure it is not in your medication. For example, Nyquil has pseudoval, acetaminophen, and DM in it. Guaifed Pd (a prescription medication for congestion and cough) has pseudoval and guiatuss.
