DeSales Gala Presents a "Roman Holiday," Saturday, March 20
"Roman Holiday" is the theme of the 23rd Annual Dinner Dance at DeSales on Saturday, March 20, 2004. The five-star, black-tie gala will be held in Billera Hall, which will be transformed for the evening into the opulent Ballroom di Billera, complete with gilded columns, giant chandeliers, and vast panoramic murals of major Roman vistas.
Keystone Nazareth Charitable Foundation and the Keystone Nazareth Bank & Trust are sponsors of the event. Scott V. Fainor, president and CEO of Keystone Nazareth Bank & Trust of Bethlehem, and his wife, Kathy, will serve as co-chairmen.
Proceeds from the annual event benefit the student financial aid program at DeSales. Since it was first held in 1982, over $1.5 million has been raised to help deserving students meet the cost of their education. More than 700 guests, including business, professional and community leaders from the area, are expected to attend this year's gala.
The evening's festivities will begin with cocktails at 7 p.m., followed by a gourmet dinner at 8 p.m., then dancing under the gilded columns of the Palladia Ballroom.
Guests will dine on a variety of gourmet delicacies with an Italian twist, including Italian wedding soup and anti pasta salad with imported red grapes, aged asiago, provolone and pecerino cheeses, Tuscan rye bread wedge, imported hard salami and prosciutto. Entrée items include grilled rosemary encrusted filet mignon and salmon roulade filled with roast plum tomato, fresh mozzarella and baby spinach. Tiramisu will be the featured dessert.
After dinner, guests will venture out onto the grand parquet and dance under the sparking lights of giant chandeliers to the music of The First Class Band until midnight.
Visuals feature personal photos of Rome from Lee Butz, CEO of Alvin H. Butz, Inc., Allentown.
