Open to educators in Lehigh and Northampton Counties.
Training provided by the Character Education Partnership (CEP) @ DeSales University
Sponsored by: DeSales University & Kids of Character
Kids of Character is bringing the Character Education Partnership to the Lehigh Valley to do a one-day intense training on the 11 Guiding Principles of Effective Character Education.
The 11 Principles are a guide for schools to create or enhance their own custom character education initiative -- no need to purchase an expensive boxed program.
The CEP recommends that each school district send 3 –5 participants who will then act as the core committee for the school’s character education initiative. They also recommend that each school gets one sourcebook for every 3 participants.
The training is free to participants* thanks to a generous donation from DeSales University’s department of student development.
Participants will receive a certificate of completion after the course.Training "focuses on school-wide systemic change." The class teaches school leaders to "create safe, healthy, high-performing schools, while inspiring students to reach their full potential as students and as people."
Programs emphasize:
- Driving student achievement, ethical growth, and social and emotional skill development
- Identifying teaching strategies for moral and performance character
- Integrating character education throughout the entire school
- Conducting assessment and action planning.
*The source book cost for our training would be $164. We are very excited to bring this training to the Lehigh Valley!
