Finalists For Business Ethics Award Announced
Winner To Be Honored September 8

The Forum for Ethics in the Workplace announced the finalists for the first annual Societas Award for Responsible Corporate Conduct. The winner of the competition will be revealed and presented with an award on Thursday, September 8, 2011 at DeSales University in Center Valley at the 7:00 a.m. breakfast.

Four local companies made the list after completing a comprehensive application process. They are:

  • ATMOS, Inc.
  • Altitude Marketing
  • Lafayette Ambassador Bank
  • Prudential Patt, White Real Estate.

To be considered for the award, companies had to submit a detailed application package that addresses recognized elements of ethical business practices such as formal codes of conduct, compliance with both the letter and spirit of the law, accountability at all levels of the organization, and good corporate citizenship.

“The four finalists prepared impressive applications that clearly met the criteria for eligibility,” said Kevin Flemming, chair of the award committee. “The board of directors [of the Forum for Ethics in the Workplace] is very enthusiastic with the response we received in the first year of the program.”

He explained that the Forum is sponsoring this breakfast on September 8 and that it will include a presentation featuring segments from each company’s application. Students from the Business Department of DeSales will participate in the presentation.

The Societas Award is designed to show how real companies incorporate ethical standards and best practices throughout their business model.
