DeSales University Dedicates Lansdale Area Campus The new location will offer MBA and accelerated bachelor's degree programs in Upper Gwynedd Township
DeSales University dedicated the new DeSales University Lansdale Area Campus on Tuesday, September 27. The new Lansdale location offers the MBA and ACCESS programs, and is located in Upper Gwynedd Township at the intersection of Sumneytown Pike and Broad Street.
“The Oblates of Saint Francis de Sales have served the Catholic people of Upper Gwynedd for over forty years by helping with the masses at Corpus Christi parish every Sunday. We are delighted that our university is now able to open a modern facility in this location with great neighbors in Upper Gwynedd, North Wales, and Lansdale,” says Fr. Bernard O’Connor, OSFS, president of DeSales University. “We know that our excellent academic programs will support the people in the region and be a contributor to the economic development of the township.”
At the location, DeSales will offer its master of business administration (MBA) and the University’s undergraduate adult evening program, ACCESS. Other programs may be offered in the future.
DeSales University ACCESS Program is new to the Lansdale area. For almost 35 years, ACCESS has been a regional leader in providing adult education in an accelerated 8-week format. ACCESS offers the best possible education while continuously expanding the flexibility and convenience of course schedules and delivery methods. Busy adults can complete a bachelor’s degree quickly and conveniently - in class, online, or a combination of both.
“We think our ACCESS students are some of the classiest people around,” says Deborah Booros, dean of lifelong learning. “They are experienced, motivated, and committed people, who are working hard to make a difference in both their professional and personal lives. Whether you're interested in earning a bachelor's degree, certificate, or just taking courses for personal enrichment, you're welcome in ACCESS.”
DeSales has offered its MBA program in the borough of Lansdale since 2001. This move to a nearby larger location represents an opportunity to expand the University’s offerings to undergraduate degrees and certificates while continuing to serve graduate students in the North Penn region.
The DeSales University MBA is among the largest MBA programs in the region with 5 other locations in Pennsylvania : Center Valley, Easton, Lehigh Valley Hospital Allentown., Stroudsburg, and the campus of Immaculata University in Immaculata. The program serves more than 650 working adults. A new concentration in human resource management was launched earlier this summer.
“We are both proud and excited to announce this location move for the MBA program,” says Dr. David Gilfoil, director of the MBA program. “The new facility will offer our students easier access to and from local and regional roadways, state-of-the-art educational technology, and an interactive space that is conducive to work-study integration, collegiality, and community involvement. We look forward to serving the educational needs of the greater Lansdale area at this site for years to come.”
The new location is 9,500 sq. ft., and features 7 classrooms including a student lounge, a conference room, and several staff offices.
