DeSales PA Program Defends Title at State Challenge Bowl
The DeSales University Physician Assistant Program defended its title to win the Fifth Annual State Medical Challenge Bowl held in Altoona, Pa., on October 15. The DeSales program won for the fifth consecutive time and is undefeated in state and regional competition. In addition, the program has won the national title twice in the last three years.
The team consisted of Kevan Haas and Tapti Mohapatra from Allentown and Megan Leininger from St. Clair, Pennsylvania. Steve Albrich served as alternate on the team. Albrich, Haas and Leininger received their undergraduate training from DeSales.
A total of 14 PA Programs in Pennsylvania were eligible to compete and a total of nine PA Programs took part in the competition. The following programs competed in the first round: King's College, Marywood University, Chatham College, Duquesne, Penn College, St. Francis University, DeSales University, Gannon College, and Seton Hill. The Championship round consisted of DeSales defeating King's and Chatham to capture the title.
