ACCESS to Host First Annual Veterans Recognition Breakfast

On Friday, November 11, all veterans are invited to the first annual Veterans Day Recognition Breakfast, hosted by the DeSales ACCESS Lifelong Learning program. The breakfast will be held at 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Hurd Room of the DeSales University Center and is open to any veteran.

All veterans, as well as the DeSales University community, are invited to a wreath ceremony at the DeSales University flag at 11:00 am following the breakfast. The DeSales Band will perform the National Anthem and play Taps. Fr. Mark Plaushin, OSFS, will preside over the laying of a wreath at the University Center flag.

The DeSales ceremony will echo the Veterans Day National Ceremony, which is held each year on November 11 at Arlington National Cemetery. The national ceremony starts at 11:00 a.m. with the laying of a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns and continues inside the Memorial Amphitheater with a parade of colors by veterans' organizations and remarks from dignitaries.

Join the DeSales University community as we remember those whose lives were lost, celebrate more than 25 million living veterans, and pray for the millions of active service personnel who exemplify true character and the American spirit.
