Acting/Musical Theatre Intensive component
High School/College Students (and up) 3 credits 
July 2- July 13, 2012 (No class on July 4)
Mon - Fri, 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

The Acting/Musical Theatre Intensive Component offers each student individualized training in acting, musical theatre performance, dance, voice/speech, and movement. Performing artists at the top of their fields, including Broadway professionals and university professors, staff the program. Students will attend a Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival performance and will also benefit from interaction with PSF artists.

Shakespeare/Acting for the Camera Intensive 
component

High School/College Students (and up)  3 credits
July 16 - July 27, 2012
Mon - Fri, 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
* Acting/Musical Theatre Intensive Component is a Prerequisite for this course

The Shakespeare/Acting for the Camera Intensive Component offers each student individualized training in stage combat, Shakespeare, and camera acting. Performing artists at the top of their fields, including Broadway professionals and university professors, staff the program. Students will attend a Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival performance and will also benefit from interaction with PSF artists.  

Tech/Design Intensive component
High School/College Students (and up) 3 credits
July 2 - July 13, 2012 (No class on July 4) 
Mon - Fri, 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

This is a course in the fundamentals of the art and craft of theatre technology and design, which offers: exercises and techniques; a glossary of industry-standard terminology; and an introduction to design concepts and skills. Students will attend a Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival performance, as well as opportunities to observe professional technical rehearsals. The 2010 Intensive Tech/Design program included working with innovative materials used by the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival to make masks.



                                                                                                                                                    

TR 120 Tech/Design Advanced Intensive component
High School Jrs./Srs. & College (and up) 3 credits
July 2 - July 13, 2012 (No class on July 4)
Mon. - Fri, 9:00 a.m. - 3:45 p.m.
*Tech/Design Intensive Component is a Prerequisite for this course

Each student can specialize in a specific area of design or technology (scene design, lighting, sound, costume design, stage management)  This program also offers the ability for more hands-on interaction with PSF, including observation of a running production from a backstage perspective.

Advanced Intensive Program

Acting/Musical Theatre Advanced Intensive Component
High School Jrs./Srs. & College (and up) 6 credits 
July 2 - July 27, 2012 (No class July 4) 
Mon - Fri, 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. 
*Acting/Musical Theatre Component & Shakespeare/Acting for Camera Component are prerequisites for this course

An advanced extension of The Intensive, this four week, full-day program deepens the exploration of disciplines such as musical theatre, stage combat, Shakespeare scenes, advanced acting problems, on-camera technique, mask work, and acting as a profession. There will also be an increased emphasis on performance. Students will attend a Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival performance and will also benefit from interaction with PSF artists. 

The Junior Program

Grades 4 through 8 
July 2 - July 13, 2012 (No class July 4) 
Mon - Fri 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

This program offers theatre games, improvisation, and technique fundamentals as tools in the creative exploration of musical theatre performance, acting, movement, and voice/speech. Students will benefit from interaction with Intensive instructors and PSF artists. Course activities will include attendance of a PSF performance. The program will culminate in an informal presentation for family members.
