English As A Second Language Training Program Approved For DeSales University
Center Valley, Pa... (June 4, 2003)---DeSales University has been approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education to provide the English as a Second Language (ESL) Training Program, the Program Specialist: ESL Endorsement.
All teachers in ESL Programs must obtain the Program Specialist: ESL Endorsement by the 2004-2005 school year. The DeSales program consists of four three-credit graduate courses. They are: Foundations of Second Language Acquisition, Teaching the Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Learner, Assessing English Language Learners and Linking Language Acquisition and Content.
Teachers who have been working in this field for a number of years can obtain credit for their formal as well as life experience.
