Confederates Against the Confederacy, Topic of Inaugural History Lecture Tuesday, March 22, at DeSales
"Confederates Against the Confederacy," will be the topic of the inaugural Phi Alpha Theta distinguished historian lecture at DeSales at 7:30 p.m., in the Gallery Lounge of McShea Student Center, on Tuesday, March 22. The featured speaker is Dr. Jon L. Wakelyn, a former professor and chairperson of the history departments at Catholic University and Kent State University, and an expert on the American Civil War. The program is sponsored by the department of humanities and Phil Alpha Theta History Honor Society at DeSales, and is open to the public free of charge.
Wakelyn is the author and editor of several books, including "Southern Pamphlets on Secession," "The Web of Southern Social Relations," "Catholics in the Old South," "The Biographical Dictionary of the Confederacy," and "Leaders of the American Civil War."
