Article, with photos, by Susan Van Dongen for "TimeOff" for Packet Online, the new media division of The Princeton Packet, Inc., profiles Dr. Katherine Ramsland, assistant professor of forensic psychology at DeSales. Ramsland, an expert on serial killers, and an author of 24 books, conducted a workshop on "Forensics for Writers," at Barnes & Noble in West Windsor, N.J., recently. She addressed the crime craze in media and popularity of the current CSI shows. Ramsland emphasized that most of the cases are solved by really good police work. According to Ramsland, profiling is an art, not a science. In teaching profiling, she shows students how different it is from other crime solving methods.
