Opinion section features article (with photos) by Michael J. Krajsa, business faculty member at DeSales and SIFE team adviser, on DeSales University's two-week educational expedition to Peru last August. The 14-member team from DeSales included members of Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) and faculty members. The trip was funded by a Federal Education Title VI Grant through the Business and International Education Program. The focus of the trip was to create business, cultural and service-learning opportunities that will help students prepare for futures in a global economy. According to Krajsa, the trip was an amazing experiential adventure that was far more powerful than any classroom course. Krajsa mentions the Trexler Trust symposium series on "Creating an Economy of Entrepreneurship and Innovation," held at DeSales last fall, which emphasized the reality that environments must support globally competitive entrepreneurship, in order to succeed.
