Article by Tara J. Connolly highlights the Annual Robert K. Campbell Memorial Lecture at DeSales, with this year's guest speaker, Cardinal Walter Kasper, president of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity. The lecture series is named in honor of the former Chief Executive Officer of PPL, who actively encouraged Christian unity. The Lehigh County Conference of Churches sponsors the lectureship. Cardinal Kasper presented two lectures discussing "Ecumenism: 40 Years after Vatican II." He examined the meaning and impact on Catholicism and ecumenical dialogue outlined in the Joint Declaration on the Doctrine of Justification. "JDDJ should not remain a paper and a dead letter; it must become known and lived out. It must become a reality in the body of the Church," said Cardinal Kasper.
