The Morning Call, Monday, March 28, 2005
Article by Randy Kraft provides account of the formation of the new Emmaus Arts Commission and its seven members, including Scott Paul, director of the TV / Film Program at DeSales. The commission will serve as an advisory board to the Borough Council and will hold monthly public meetings. The members will serve three-year terms. The first meeting, on March 9, resulted in many ideas on how to enhance the cultural future of the community. They included art showcased in storefront windows, Emmaus Ethnic Days, film festivals, playwriting contests, "recycle your art day," art programs for children, and acting or filmmaking classes for adults. Among the top priorities are: an Emmaus Arts Day on the Triangle; finding and renovating a space to create an Emmaus Arts Center, their most ambitious idea; a local songwriters' showcase, and initiating a garden gate walking tour. Of the seven members, five are Emmaus residents. Paul is one of two former New Yorkers on the commission.
