Story by Chris Sexton on the second annual Latino Leadership Alliance of
the Lehigh Valley scholarship awards presentation, held earlier in June,
credits partnerships with Kutztown, DeSales, Moravian and Lehigh Carbon
and Northampton Community Colleges for bringing in 15 additional
scholarships. Scholarships from the Latino Leadership Alliance were
awarded to 29 Lehigh Valley Latino students and adults. Twenty-one were
graduating seniors and eight were adults returning to school. According to
Renee Saleh, education committee chair, in addition to partnerships with
institutions of higher education, such as DeSales and Moravian, among
others, 40 students will receive more than $60,000 in scholarship
benefits.
