DeSales University to Celebrate First Anniversary In New Building

Center Valley, Pa., --(October 8, 2002) -DeSales University will celebrate its first anniversary at its Easton Area Campus from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 2.

The University opened its new 12,000 square foot space at 3001 Emrick Blvd., LVIP VI, Penn Corporate Center, Bethlehem Twp., Pa. on October 17, 2001. Since that time, area residents have taken advantage of the location reflected in the doubling of MBA students and a 10 percent increase in registrations in the ACCESS program at that campus.

Local radio station B104 will conduct a live broadcast during the anniversary celebration and the University will raffle a free ACCESS class valued at more than $750. In addition, anyone applying to the University's Easton Area Campus during the anniversary celebration will have their $35 MBA or $30 ACCESS application fee waived.

The B104 Bee and the DeSales University Bulldog mascots will be on hand for the kids. Parents can tour the facility. Refreshments will be served and free games and prizes including t-shirts and mugs are part of the festivities. The facility features three computer classrooms, a distance learning center, six traditional classrooms, a student lounge, faculty and staff offices, and a conference room.

DeSales offers its MBA program and its ACCESS adult undergraduate program at the Easton site in addition to other area sites. The Center for Professional Development, the University's customized job training program, is housed at the Easton facility. Area companies can obtain customized job training grants from the state that can increase their training budgets by 300%. In the past year, the CPD was able to help eleven area companies obtain a combined $1.2 million in grants.

Since early October, the opening of the Route 33 extension off of Route 78 has made the site extremely accessible to anyone living in Western New Jersey, Monroe County, Easton and the Eastern Lehigh Valley.
