DeSales University Names New Annual Fund Director
Center Valley, Pa. (August 26, 2002) Amy Meleck of Allentown, Pa., has been named director of annual fund programs at DeSales University.
Prior to joining the staff at DeSales University, Meleck was director of development at Valley Youth House in Allentown, a non-profit agency serving troubled youth. There she was responsible for the annual and capital campaign programs cultivating various donor bases including, among others, corporations, foundations and government prospects. Meleck was also responsible for fundraising special events and public, media and community relations.
Prior to that she was development director for Pennsylvania Stage Company, a non-profit professional theatre.
In her new position, Meleck is responsible for the direction of DeSales University's annual fund programs and activities, which are designed to secure unrestricted, new and recurring gifts. It also includes overseeing telemarketing programs, developing and producing direct mail appeals, supervising the University's major annual fundraising special events and solicitations of major annual donor prospects.
Meleck earned her bachelor of science in social work from the State University of New York at Buffalo. She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, the Allentown Rotary Club, the Allentown Arts Commission and a member of the Project Child Coalition.
