The archivist establishes policies and guidelines for the collection and sets up an orderly transfer of the items. She collects archival materials, determines their historical significance, and creates an index of the items. While organizing the resources, the archivist determines the storage and disposal procedures. The archivist also maintains and protects the longevity of the documents and selects and prepares permanent storage of the records.
The archivist will assist researchers, answer questions, keep track of usage, maintain the web site, create displays, and produce digital projects.
