A spare, lucid, rewarding history
Inquirer theater critic, Desmond Ryan, reviews the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival's production of "Henry IV, Part 1" and cites the portrayals of Ian Merrill Peakes as Hotspur and John Ahlin as Falstaff, and describes them as  "strong and framing performances." He states director Patrick Mulcahy has presented the play with  "imaginative treatment" and that the production provides an "illuminating and rewarding view of what is arguably the supreme work among Shakespeare's histories."
