DeSales is moving on up!
DeSales' ranking has moved up among the country's best liberal arts schools in the latest U.S. News & World Report, due out on Monday, August 22. In the category listing the best universities with master's programs, DeSales is ranked 77th among schools in the North, up from 80th last year.
The magazine categorizes schools based on their mission, such as liberal arts, national university, comprehensive colleges and, in some cases, on region. Factors such as graduation and retention rates, and student-to-faculty ratio are also considered. Last year, DeSales was ranked 80th among universities in the North offering master's degrees. In that category, universities after the top 83 are not ranked, but placed in tiers based on their ratings. East Stroudsburg University and Kutztown University are in the third tier. Moravian College is in the third tier of the liberal arts colleges.
The annual issue of the U.S. News & World Report is due out on Monday, August 22. For a related story, see The Morning Call article, "Area colleges, universities make mark on annual national survey," on Friday, August 19, 2005.
