It's Christmas 1962 and in a rundown, small-town locker room, Shooting Starts tells the wonderfully funny story of the interactions of a southern touring women's basketball team trying to find their way in life. The team members' distinct personalities and humorous banter and horseplay make for a spirited romp that is surprisingly moving and has audiences cheering for this hapless lot of dreamers to triumph over the local men's team.
