The event, which is free and open to the public, will feature a panel discussion on "Pain at the Pump," a look at America's mismanagement of its natural resources, the rising cost of gasoline, the natural and man-made reasons behind it, what consumers don't know and can do to help themselves as gas prices threaten to reach the $4-per-gallon mark.
Panelists include: the Honorable Charles T. McIlhinney, Jr., a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives and chairman of the subcommittee on energy; Dave McGuire, a local activist with the Sierra Club; Dan Desmond, Deputy Secretary for the Office of Energy and Technology Deployment and John Donaldson, instructor of finance at DeSales University.
Center Valley Forum is a regularly scheduled panel discussion on a current topic of interest to the Lehigh Valley community. The purpose for this series is to examine public issues and concerns, particularly as they impact American culture in law and society; science and healthcare; communications and media; commerce and finance; and religion and faith.
Established in 2000, the Salesian Center for Faith and Culture's mission is to promote the interaction of faith and culture, in a mutually beneficial engagement, through academic initiatives that focus on the authentic integration of social concerns and gospel values.
