Concert of Hope and Peace to Honor Men and Women of the Armed Forces, Sun., Nov. 13 at DeSales
A Concert of Hope and Peace to honor the men and women of the United States Armed Forces will be held at 4:30pm, Sunday, Nov. 13, in Connelly Chapel at DeSales. The program will feature students and faculty from the performing and fine arts department at DeSales, who will perform songs and give readings of hope, peace, and freedom, to celebrate the Advent Season. The program is open to the public free of charge.
The first Concert of Hope and Peace to honor the Armed Forces was held in November 2002, and later that same week, the United States went to war with Iraq. DeSales would like to take a moment and remember those who have lost their lives while serving their country, and also those men and women who continue to serve.
Students, faculty and staff will perform songs and give readings from the Advent and Christmas season, to small musical accompaniment, including a pianist. The concert will also feature Lynn Flickinger-Jones, voice teacher in the performing and fine arts department at DeSales, and Vincent Trovato, who has conducted several shows and performances at DeSales.
