Article by Jessica Silver-Greenberg on true-crime writers and their literary accounts of actual murders includes comments by Dr. Katherine Ramsland, associate professor of forensic psychology at DeSales and an expert on serial killers. Ramsland says she does wonder about what motivates serial killers and as a crime writer, is very curious about how people become what they are. Ramsland's forthcoming book, "The Human Predator: A Historical Chronicle of Serial Murder and Forensic Investigation" (Berkley), includes a profile of BTK killer Dennis Rader, who began committing murders about 30 years ago.
