Announcement that DeSales received $1million from the state to complete phase two of the university center project states that money will go towards construction of a new bookstore and meeting rooms. Phase one of the 26,000-square-foot university center was completed about two years ago at a cost of almost $10 million. The facility includes a 500-seat dining space with a two-story window, a food court, a kitchen, lounge, restrooms, an outdoor patio, a pedestrian bridge and a parking area with 185 spaces. It can accommodate 1,600 students. The building also features a wireless computer network. The university center meeting rooms will also be available to community groups, businesses, and government agencies.
