Morning Call, Tuesday, July 26, 2005
Review by Geoff Gehman states that director Robert Moss modernizes Shakespeare's play Merchant of Venice and that Steve TenEyck's set morphs from a 21st Century stock exchange to a "dreamy 16th Century mosque." He praises performances by Lauren Lovett, who plays Portia, and is "spunky, engagingly flustered, and whip-smart." Also, Anthony Marble, who plays Bassanio, and Tyrone Mitchell Henderson, who plays Gratiano, Bassanio's friend, work extremely well together. He describes Ken Jennings' performance as Shylock as consistently powerful.
