A Business Degree from DeSales University is comprehensive, challenging, innovative and packed with practical application and experience. Studying business in our liberal arts environment, and in our ACBSP-accredited program, gives you the tools to become a skilled communicator and solid thinker in the rapidly expanding global marketplace. Each business major completes a core of 10 courses that comprise a common body of knowledge for business, including accounting, economics, finance, law, management, management of information technology, and marketing. Our core curriculum typically meets the academic prerequisites for a future MBA program.
Our Business Faculty use real-life experiences and innovative teaching techniques to create the ideal learning environment. Nearly all business courses are taught in state-of-the-art Smart Classrooms enabling students to easily absorb class material. Most of our faculty have doctoral degrees or professional certifications, and most have extensive business and/or consulting experience. You will enjoy the comfort of exchanging ideas in small classes, and you will have the opportunity to gain professional experience through internships. Business faculty will help you plan a discriminating and worthwhile internship, which will be coordinated through the Career Services Office.
Our Business Graduates work for prestigious companies such as The Vanguard Group, Johnson & Johnson, Merck, Goldman Sachs, Deloitte & Touche, ParenteBeard, The Deutsche Bank, Dun & Bradstreet, Just Born, MTV, PP&L, Air Products & Chemicals, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Olympus America, Hamilton Lane Advisors, and Verizon Information Services. In addition, business alumni are employed by the Department of the Navy, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Internal Revenue Service.
Our business curriculum is designed to accommodate those students who opt to major in two different areas of business. Most Business major core courses are completed in the student's Freshman and Sophomore years. Courses specific to their dual degrees can then be completed during the Junior and Senior years - allowing students to complete two degrees in the traditional four year period.
