Story (with photos) by Tara J. Connolly on the 22nd Annual Rev. Thomas Furphy Lecture with guest speaker, Archbishop Celestino Migliore, Vatican ambassador to the United Nations. During his talk, the Archbishop reflected on his three-year experience at the U.N. He said the objectives set forth at the Millennium Conference "coincide very well with the traditional social doctrine of the Church." The Archbishop pointed cited the chief concern of the Holy See is the silence on the subject of disarmament and that the Holy See will continue to point out the economic benefits of disarmament measures.
