Story by Genevieve Marshall (with photo) announces the presentation of a ceremonial $2 million check, the largest award in DeSales' history, for the completion of the University Center, including meeting rooms and expanded bookstore. The check was presented by state Rep. Karen Beyer, R 131. Also in attendance were state Senators Patrick Browne, R 16, and Rob Wonderling, R- 24. Carol Hapler, district chief of staff, represent U.S Representative Charles W. Dent, R 15. Over the summer, DeSales received $1 million dollars. The state funds are part of the Redevelopment Assistance Capital program. The next phase of the University Center project is expected to begin next month.
