Dr. Roger Berg, associate professor of natural science and coordinator of the chemistry program at DeSales, was interviewed about Austin Powder Co., one of the country's largest federally licensed explosives manufacturers, in connection with the disappearance of 55 pounds of hydromite, a blasting agent. The company was fined $1 million. Free of its facilities, including a Northampton plant, have had licenses revoked.
