1964 - 1965

  • 10,000 people attend ground-breaking ceremonies for DeSales (Dooling) and Wills Hall, 5/17/64
  • Classes begin at 8:10 a.m., 9/22/65
  • Bishop McShea dedicates College, 11/6/65 

1966 - 1967

  • Conmy Hall dedicated, 12/3/66
  • Wills Hall dedicated, 6/30/66

1968 - 1969

  • Brisson Seminary dedicated, 6/30/68
  • Billera Hall dedicated, 11/24/68

1970 - 1971

  • Ground-breaking for DeChantal Hall, 11/16/71

1972 - 1973

  • DeChantal Hall Opened, 9/73

1974 - 1975

  • McShea College Center dedication, 9/22/74 

1976 - 1977

  • Forty Rosehill Ash trees are planted on the mall
  • Centernary Mall dedicated in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Oblates
     
    1978 - 1979
  • Capital Fund Campaign for new theatre is begun, 10/78 

1980 - 1981

  • Dooling elected President of the BOard of Trustees
  • Business Management and Liberal Studies major established, 9/18/80
  • Criminal Justice major established by ACCESS
  • First Winter Commencement, 1/24/81
  • Computer Science program introduced by Mr. Joseph Canon
  • College purchases first computer, V AX 11/750

1982 - 1983

  • Dedication and First Act One performance at Labuda Center "Where's Charley?" 2/26/82 

1984 - 1985

  • First six town house dormitories opened on College Heights
  • Capital Fund Campaign begun for a new library
  • Renovations to McShea College Center begun
  • College's mission statement and objectives revised
  • Key areas of administration computerized
  • General education curriculum revised

1986 - 1987

  • Second set of town house dormitories opened

1988 - 1989

  • Trexler Library opens, 1/88; Dedicated on 3/14/88
  • General education curriculum revised
  • Middle States accreditation reaffirmed
  • PA Department of Ed approved Master's in Education program 

1990 - 1991

  • College celebrates 25th Anniversary Year
  • Master's of Science in Nursing accredited by National League for Nursing
  • MBA Program Launched
  • Eight new student town houses constructed

1992 - 1993

  • Shakespeare Festival Started
  • Chestnut Hill College ACCESS extension center opened
  • Trexler Library computerized
  • Money magazine named AC one of the 100 "best buys" in American Colleges
  • ACT ONE celebrated 25th anniversary
  • College purchased Brisson Seminary 

1994 - 1995

  • Hispanic Initiative program introduced
  • Distance Learning Center built to serve the Marywood College Masters in Social Work Program
  • US News and World Report recognized Allentown college as Number 1 Best value of all regional
  • liberal arts colleges in the Northern United States

1996 - 1997

  • College admitted into Division III Middle Atlantic Athletic Conference
  • Billera Hall renovated and addition completed
  • Labuda addition completed

1998 - 1999

  • College received Middle States reaccredidation
  • Elementary Education major introduced
  • Fr. Gambet, 2nd President of the college, retired. Rev. Bernard O'Connor becomes 3rd College President

2000 - 2001

  • Ground Broken for Pricilla Payne Hurd Science Center
  • Allentown College of St Francis De Sales gets becomes DeSales University on Jan 1, 2001
  • Aviat Hall, student residence, completed

2001 - 2002

  • New Mission statement and philosophy adopted
