Article by Kathy Lauer-Williams on the first Lehigh Valley Independent Filmmakers Town Meeting, held Tuesday, March 14, featured quotes by Scott Paul, director of the DeSales University TV / Film Program. "We want to invigorate film arts in the Lehigh Valley," said Paul. "We are concerned with keeping our local talent." The goal of the event, which was co-hosted by DeSales and the SouthSide Film Institute (SSFI), is to strengthen the area's filmmaking. Discussion also included the possibility of developing a local soundstage. Presently, the SSFI is creating a Web site listing local resources for filmmakers. More than 100 aspiring filmmakers, actors and technical people attended.
