WLVT-TV, Ch. 39, April 17 and April 20, 2006
The Lehigh Valley area's PBS station, WLVT-TV, Ch. 39, featured a profile on artist and sculptor Ben Marcune, who has received congressional recognition for his talents. Among those providing commentary was Father Bernard O'Connor, DeSales president, who discussed the seven-foot bronze statue of Mary, Our Lady of Deliverance, which overlooks the DeSales campus. Marcune spent 18 months creating the statue and used the Renaissance version of the Black Madonna, but added a 21st century, contemporary feel to it. Mayor of Bethlehem, John B. Callahan, also provided comments.
