Distance Education at DeSales University offers a convenient alternative to the traditional classroom.  The student who has work and/or family obligations and wishes to attend classes from an off-campus location such as their homes, offices, or other locations will find distance education an excellent alternative.

The online environment can be an exciting way to learn!

The quality and content of an online course is identical to its traditional counterpart. Consequently, the outcomes and goals of online courses are unchanged in comparison to traditional courses. However, the teaching and learning modes and tools can be different, opening up many new flexible, learner-centered collaboration and knowledge construction opportunities.  At DeSales University, we strive to present instruction in a way that is unique to the online environment.

Online courses can be synchronous, asynchronous or a blend of both synchronous and asynchronous lessons. Synchronous courses do not separate faculty and students by time and virtual learning space; asynchronous courses separate faculty and students by time and space. Blended or hybrid courses are some combination of both.

DeSales has fully online degrees and certificates and will continue expanding its hybrid and online offerings in the future.
