Senior Salesian Scholar
With a Ph.D. in French language and literature from the Université Laval, Fr. Pocetto joined the faculty of the then Allentown College of St. Francis de Sales in 1965. For twenty-two years he served the college/university as its chief academic officer. Following his retirement as Senior Vice-President, he assumed the role of Senior Scholar in the Salesian Center for Faith & Culture, where, among other things, he authored the definitive history of DeSales University.
Among his many works on behalf of the Oblate congregation, he has served as the Assistant Superior General, the president of the International Commission on Salesian Studies, and (currently) as a regional director for the DeSales Spirituality Center.
In the classroom and online, Fr. Pocetto teaches a variety of courses in Salesian Spirituality, a subject about which he lectures professionally throughout the country.
