Role of women's colleges in focus as Cedar Crest looks to the future

Story by Kristen Ziegler on the challenges of single-sex institutions and why schools in the area decided to change to co-ed includes comments by Father Alexander T. Pocetto, OSFS, senior Salesian scholar at DeSales. According to Father Pocetto, retired senior vice president and a founding member of the school, DeSales opened its doors to women after less than five years as a male college because it would help in reaching enrollment goals, which was especially important in the early years of the school.
