PM501 Project Management Essentials
This course investigates the increasing use of projects to accomplish important organizational goals and the unique style of administration required managing them. To illustrate and reinforce concepts, a variety of projects, organizational settings, and issues will be investigated through Harvard cases. Topics to be addressed include the selection of projects, the role of the project manager, how to organize and plan a project, budgeting and cost estimation, project scheduling, resource allocation among multiple projects, project monitoring and information systems, controlling projects, auditing projects, and terminating projects.
