Article by Susan Lulgjuraj includes announcement that Randy Sturm, DeSales senior from North Cape May, N.J., and a member of DeSales University's soccer team, was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District First-Team for the second straight year. Lulgjuraj cites his record, which includes most goals in a season (27), most career assists (24), most points in a season (64), most career points (139) and is two goals shy of tying the record for goals in a career with 59. Sturm earned Freedom Conference Player of the Week honors five times and was ECAC Mid-Atlantic Region Player of the Week twice. He excels academically, as well, with a 3.43 grade-point average. On Monday, Nov. 20, Sturm was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American College Division Men's Soccer Second-Team. Sturm is just the fourth athlete in DeSales athletics history to be named an Academic All-American.
