Dorie Weaver is an instructor in the Department of Nursing and Health. She is a Family Nurse Practitioner and has practiced in the area of cardiology. Her clinical experience includes medical/surgical, emergency room, trauma, and critical care nursing. She maintains clinical practice in the acute care setting as well as at a pediatric residential facility.
Ms. Weaver teaches Acute Care (Clinical) at the Traditional BSN and Accelerated Second Degree BSN levels. Her responsibilities at the graduate level include Advanced Health and Physical Assessment, Nurse Educator Practicum I, and Pathophysiology. Ms. Weaver continues to instruct for Kaplan which is an NCLEX review for students preparing for the State Boards. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, Mu Omicron chapter, and the Lehigh Valley Nurse Practitioner Association.
Ms. Weaver received her B.S. in Nursing from Allentown College, her MSN in the Family Nurse Practitioner Track at DeSales University, and received a Post-Master's in Nursing Education at Villanova University. Ms. Weaver is currently pursuing her Doctor of Nursing Science Degree from Widener University and well as seeking certification as a nurse legal consultant.
