Story by Andre Williams (with photo) profiles senior Kirby Lutz's basketball career at DeSales. Lutz, a graduate of Pen Argyl High School, has had a very successful basketball career at DeSales. She has scored an average of 16 points per game, and is the 16th DeSales player to score 1,000 points or more during their career. According to girls' basketball coach Fred Richter, scoring 1000 points is a difficult accomplishment and an impressive milestone. According to Richter, it takes courage, intestinal fortitude, old time-management skills and passion for the game. He adds "because Kirby's so darn athletic and so passionate about what she does, she's a natural to put stops to big-time scorers on other teams." Lutz is majoring in both marketing and management.
