Students will have the option to participate in one of five different housing processes for 2012-2013: General Room Selection, University Heights Selection, Wellness Community, Single Selection or Special Needs Housing. Each of these processes is described below.
Please note that there will be the option of pulling in roommates and/or suite mates through the General Room Selection Process. You should check the Housing Selection Schedule to find the date and time for the process you want to participate in. Be advised that because of the complexity of organizing this process, there are strict deadlines for deposits, applications, and processes.
Students intending to live on campus for the 2012-2013 academic year must make a $300 non-refundable housing deposit to the Treasurer's Office by Friday, March 16, 2012. Students with a credit on their account must contact the Treasurer's Office to have their credit applied to as a housing deposit by this deadline. Students with late deposits may not be guaranteed housing. Late Housing Deposits may not be eligible to be "pulled in by a roommate/suite mate" and may be housed only at the end of the room selection process. All students intending to live on campus next year must also complete either the Residence Hall Housing Application or the University Heights Application dependent upon which housing process they choose.
New! Please check "My Room Assignment" on your WebAdvisor screen to determine if your housing deposit is complete and on time. Lottery Numbers will be posted here as well after they have been determined.

General Room Selection
Students choosing to participate in General Room Selection will be eligible to select a room in Brisson (as available), Chappuis, Donahue, and Welsh. Students will be assigned priority for General Room Selection based on their designated lottery number (by class year).
Single Room Selection
Single Room living will be offered during the 2012-2013 academic year on an availability basis. (If space allows we will offer up to 15 singles each for men and women.) Students must submit their Housing Deposits on time and indicate "single" on their housing application form. Single Rooms will be housed in Brisson.
University Heights Selection
Those upper class students who wish to live as a group in the University Heights apartments must meet certain minimum requirements to be eligible. Qualifying students should complete the University Heights Application as a group of six, seven, or eight. Each group must designate a Height Captain as a representative. Note: While groups of eight will have priority for Heights Selection, smaller groups who meet the minimum requirements may still have an opportunity to select a height and allow other students to fill the empty spaces.
The Wellness Community
The Wellness Living-Learning Community is an entire community of students interested in living a balanced and substance-free lifestyle. Students choosing to live in this community must sign a contract indicating that they choose to abstain from tobacco use, refrain from the use of alcohol and agree not to bring the effects of alcohol back into the community. The Wellness Community will be housed in DeChantal Hall.
Special Needs Housing
Students needing special housing accommodations (medical, psychological, or disability-related needs) should follow the guidelines available at www.desales.edu/disability. All required information should be submitted by you and your diagnostician by March 16th to the Coordinator of Learning and Disability Services. She will make a recommendation to Residence Life regarding any necessary housing accommodations. Students requesting special needs housing must also indicate their need on the General Housing Application. Students approved for special needs housing will be contacted in early April by the Director of Residence Life to select an appropriate housing option.
