DeSales University's 26th annual dinner dance presents "The Emerald Ball"

"The Emerald Ball" is the theme of DeSales University's 26th annual dinner dance on Saturday, March 17. The black-tie event will be held in Billera Hall, where the evening's festivities begin at 7:00 p.m. with cocktails and a gourmet dinner at 8:00 p.m., followed by dancing until midnight.

All funds raised by the annual five-star gala benefit student financial aid. Since it was first held in 1982, the event has raised more than $1.8 million for the financial aid program.

James V. Magee, Jr., Esq., self-employed attorney practicing in Cincinnati, Ohio, and his wife, Linda, are serving as co-chairmen and Gold Sponsors of this year's event. James Magee is a member of DeSales' first graduating class in 1969, and a member of DeSales' Board of Trustees. James and Linda Magee will be among more than 770 guests, including business, professional, and community leaders from the area, who are sponsoring tables or providing contributions.

During the reception beginning at 7:00 p.m., guests will enjoy assorted hors'd oeuvres and a full bar. Dinner, which follows at 8:00 p.m., will include an appetizer of Pesto Agnolotti; salad of greens topped with white grapes, walnuts and raspberry vinaigrette; entrées of beef tenderloin on a bed of brandy sauce and panko crusted sea haddock fillet; and mini red and fingerling potatoes, and roasted green beans. Dessert will feature Bailey's Irish Crème Cheesecake.

Music will be provided by the Uptown Band. Also, in keeping with this year's theme, and as part of the evening's festivities, some of DeSales' talented dance students will perform Irish dances.

Admission is $175 per person. Tables of 10 are available. For more information and reservations, please contact Diane Moeser, director of special events at DeSales, at (610) 282-1100, ext. 1307, or at diane.moeser@desales.edu.
