DeSales University Presents Fifth Annual Film Festival, March 29 to 31

The fifth annual Student Film Festival of The Performing and Fine Arts Department of DeSales University takes place March 29 to March 31 on the Main Stage of the Labuda Center for the Performing Arts, Center Valley, Pa.

The Film Festival will begin at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 29 and Saturday, March 31. The event will begin at 7:30 on Friday, March 30 as the highlight of a day's worth of activities featuring comedian, actor, and writer Chevy Chase. The day begins with a master class on comedy sketch writing from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. and concludes with an introduction/kick off of the film festival by Chase at 7:30 p.m. These events are part of the Visiting Artists Film Series at DeSales, funded by a grant from the Dexter F. and Dorothy H. Baker Foundation, and in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the DeSales University TV/Film Department.

The Student Film Festival is the culmination of a year's worth of hard work by DeSales' emerging young filmmakers. The film festival consists of short films and documentaries, music videos, educational media, promos, commercials, and more. Highlights of this year's festival include:

  • Dig (music video)

    A nervous girl prepares for her semiformal and, in an attempt to look beautiful, orders the first beauty product she sees on TV—with unexpected results.
  • Dance on Film

The DeSales University Student Film Festival takes place Thursday, March 28 at 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 29 at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday, March 31 at 8:00 p.m. The Friday evening presentation of the Film Festival is sold out however, tickets are still available for Thursday and Saturday. Tickets prices are $10 for adults and $8 for students and seniors.
