DeSales University Presents Annual Spring Concert, May 4 and 5

DeSales University will present its annual spring concert at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 4, and Saturday, May 5, in the Connelly Chapel at the Center Valley campus. The performance will feature the 45-voice DeSales University Chorale and the 25-voice Schola Cantorum. The choral ensembles will be under the direction of Steven Brennfleck, coordinator of choral activities at DeSales and assistant campus minister for music. Russell Jackson will serve as accompanist. The event is open to the public free of charge, but tickets are required. For tickets, contact Brennfleck at 610-282-1100, ext. 1751, or at Steven.Brennfleck@DeSales.edu.

The concert includes performances of Telemann's "Laudate Jehovam," Mozart's "Missa Brevis in D Minor," with student soloists and orchestra. The program also features works by Kodaly, Paulus, Rameau, and selections from Randall Thompson's "Frostiana," settings of the poetry of Robert Frost to music.

Led by Brennfleck, a native of N.J., and graduate of Westminster Choir College in Princeton, N.J., the choral ensembles at DeSales are composed of students from all class years and academic majors. The spring concert performance is the culmination of the students' work for the academic year.

For more information on the concert or to reserve tickets, contact Steven Brennfleck, choral director at DeSales, at 610-282-1100, ext. 1751, or at Steven.Brennfleck@Desales.edu.
