DeSales Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi International Honors Society in Education Inducts 28 New Members

The DeSales University Alpha Alpha Chi chapter of the Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education inducted 28 new members, during its spring 2007 ceremony held in Wills Hall recently.

Kappa Delta Pi is dedicated to scholarship and excellence. The society is a community of scholars and promotes the development and dissemination of worthy educational ideas and practices. The criteria for being nominated includes a total of 48 credits earned and a 3.25 cumulative grade point average for traditional day and ACCESS students, and a 3.5 cumulative grade point average for master's students.

Alpha Alpha Chi, charted at DeSales in November 2002, is an organization that fosters inquiry and reflection on significant educational issues.

The induction ceremony featured guest speaker Isabel Conlin, principal of St. Theresa School in Hellertown.

"Mrs. Conlin has provided our future teachers with valuable field experiences in her school that have enhanced their practical learning in real-world classrooms," said Dr. Robert Legutko, assistant professor of education at DeSales, who serves as advisor of Alpha Alpha Chi. "She is also a strong voice and advocate for Catholic education."

New inductees include:
Marta Adan '09, of Fords, N.J.; Michael Bingeman '08, of Mertztown, Pa; Katherine DeSalva '08, of Bethlehem, Pa; Lauren Greene '09, of Exton, Pa; Theresa Krause '08, of Cinnaminson, N.J.; Cathie-Ann Mancuso '09, of Morganville, N.J.; Megan Monahan '07, of Bethlehem, Pa; Theresa Peppe '08, of Asbury, N.J.; Kelly Powers '09, of Ellicott City, Md; Laura Prumachuk '08, of Bridgewater, N.J.; Nicole Schwartz '08, of Nazareth, Pa; and Elise Young '09, of Berlin, Ct.

Also, the following ACCESS students:
