Forum for Ethics to Host Breakfast Featuring Sports Illustrated Writer, Thurs., Oct. 4
The Forum for Ethics in the Workplace, a partnership institution of the Salesian Center for Faith and Culture at DeSales, will host an ethics breakfast featuring Sports Illustrated senior writer, Jack McCallum beginning at 7 a.m., Thursday, October 4, 2007 at the Best Western Lehigh Valley Conference Center, Routes 512 and 22.
McCallum will comment on where the corporate and athletic worlds meet and where they diverge as well as ethical lessons business leaders can learn from the world of sports during the event titled, "Games We Play: Work at the Intersection of Business and Sports."
McCallum joined the staff of Sports Illustrated in 1981 and primarily writes about basketball. He has also reported on a variety of sports-related topics ranging from baseball chatter to electronic football. He is the editor of the weekly "Scorecard" section of the magazine. He is the author of "Seven Seconds or Less: My Season on he Bench with the Runnin' and Gunnin' Phoenix Suns," a behind-the-scenes account of the Suns' 2005-2006 season. He also coauthored a book about pro basketball titled "Foul Lines."
Participants will enjoy a buffet breakfast and table discussions based on the keynote speaker's comments. Registration and breakfast is $25 per person or $175 for a table of 8. The Forum for Ethics in the Workplace became a partnership institution of the Salesian Center for Faith and Culture at DeSales University on January 1, 2006.
