Welcome to Act 1's 43rd season!
The programs in Dance, Music, Theatre, and TV/Film here in the Division of Performing Arts were born of great vision. As we begin our 43rd season, our stages await the astounding variety of worlds into which our students will breathe life. Fusing ideas with emotion, a great work of film, dance, music, or theatre can transport us to magical places of fancy or simply echo profound and deep truths.
As you know, the Labuda Center is a place of learning: here young peoples lives are changed by what they create and see on stage. Our students work to perfect their skills under the guidance of a marvelous faculty--all practicing directors, choreographers, designers, conductors, cinematographers, and editors. We strive to build future generations of artists and audiences because we believe that art reflects a society's humanity; its sensitivity to - and responsibility for - the greater good.
So in this way, the most important people in the work we do is our enthusiastic and loyal audience. Without you--your laughter, tears, applause, and arrested attention--our work is just rehearsal. So we invite you to join us this season. If you've already purchased your tickets, these pages serve to whet your appetite for what lies ahead. If you've not already joined us, we hope to goad you into action.
Thanks, as always, for your support. We all look forward to seeing you at the Labuda Center this year.
